Cinemas Facts and Trivia:

Many concerts were held at this venue, some famous artist included: Petula Clark, Beatles, The Who, The Goons, Max Wall, Jimmy young, Ken Dodd, Bill Haley.

This cinema was built on the site of an old chapel. It’s said that many people refused to visit this venue when it opened for this reason.

Screen.7 is said to be haunted by a ghost called George. Strange noises are witnessed here when locking up late at night. Seats also move by themselves. The staff do not like going into this screen alone! I also experienced a lot of technical problems photographing this area.... spooky!!

Screens 4 and 5 use the cinemas original Victoria 9 projectors.

Special Thanks:

Thanks to the Cheltenham Odeon staff who allowed me to photograph this fantastic cinema’s interior. Now I would like to take you on a tour around the different parts of this venue illustrating the original architecture plus rooms and areas not usually accessed by the public.
Previous to this project, my visits to this cinema have been to watch films. I was always greeted with helpful friendly staff, this is why I liked to come back here again and again. Indeed it’s a shame that this style of customer service does not exist so much in new style cinemas. It became apparent on my visit that the staff had a high regard for their manager Nick Eggington or Mr.E as they say! A good working "Cinema Paradiso" spirit exists here.

I hope you enjoy this photo tour.
